A very important part of any sport are the referees who officiate - without them, we wouldn't have a game!

Why become a Referee?

EXERCISE - Refereeing a basketball game is a great way to stay active!

THE KIDS - Referees make sure the game is fair, fun & safe. By refereeing you are doing a wonderful service to the local sporting community!

CHALLENGE - Life is full of challenges and being a referee is a perfect way to learn how to meet them head-on and know that you can handle them!

MONEY - Our referees get paid - You can work a few hours & make some pretty good money. As you improve and work higher level games, the money improves. Not a bad part-time job!

KNOWLEDGE - With an increased knowledge of the Rules, you are a better referee, a better player, a better coach and a better fan!

FRIENDSHIP - Becoming a basketball referee is a great way to meet friends that have similar interests!

TRAVEL - Refereeing provides opportunities to travel to different competitions and tournaments around the region, state and nation (and even overseas if you work hard enough!)
