2024 Annual General Meeting Notice

Good afternoon members and supporters:

The Mackay Basketball Incorporation Annual General Meeting (MBI AGM) will be held on Tuesday, 26th of March 2024 at the McDonald’s Multisport Stadium, commencing at 6.00pm.

At that meeting the following positions will be declared vacant, so it is requested that consideration is given by all members and supporters who may be interested in self-nominating or having someone nominate them to complete the forms attached to this email for the open positions.  Those positions are:

1. Vice President (2 Year term).

2. Treasurer (2 Year term).

3. Junior Representative Chairperson (2 year term).

4. Ladies Daytime Chairperson (2 Year term)

5. Ordinary Committee Members (1 year term)

   • Junior Representative Committee

   • Senior Representative Committee

   • Technical Officials Committee

   • Ladies Daytime Committee

Please see below nomination form, and note that all nominations are due by 5pm on Tuesday, 19th of March 2024. 

Any supporter or member who will wish to vote will need take steps to be deemed eligible to vote.  In order to be eligible to vote at the AGM you will need to ensure you are considered a financial member and be one of the following category of memberships:

1. Life Members

2. Playing Members

3. Parent Members

• A parent or guardian of a player member who has not reached the age of 18 at the time of the AGM.

• Only one parent or guardian may nominate per junior playing member – to apply to be  parent members please complete the application 5pm on Tuesday, 12th of March 2024.  Applications submitted after this time will not be considered - Parent Member Application

4. Other Members

• Coach, Assistant Coach, Technical Official and Volunteers.

• A person with an interest in basketball who is not a playing member or parent member over the age of 18 who applies for emembership, whose application is approved by the Executive Committee and who pays the membership fee of $5.00 is eligible to be a member of MBI.

  • To apply to be an Associate Member, please complete the registration by Sunday, 24th of March 2024 by 5.00pm - Associate Membership Link

  • If your Associate Membership application is declined, you will be refunded within 48 hours. 

Any eligible voter who is unable to attend can nominate a person to be their proxy for voting.  No member can be nominated for more than two proxy votes and all proxies must be submitted by 5pm on Monday, 25th of March 2024, and will be available for collection after the 19th of March 2024 from the MBI office.
